It was just a fitting option for a city break in Newmarket with all in all brilliant value for money. The bathroom was maybe a bit tired, but all clean and perfectly fine for a couple of nights stay. Consider driving out to find breakfast as there’s nothing close by.

Had an awesome time with friends! We checked out the local races and had some great meals, including 2 courses for £17. The staff were super friendly, and our room was clean and cozy. Just a heads-up, breakfast isn’t provided, and the bar closes early during the week.

The small double room was comfortable, although noisy due to nearby activity and an unsecured window that allowed the dog to bark at sounds outside. Staff were exceptional, especially the attentive waitress, and the dog-friendly environment was a significant plus. Dinner was extraordinary, enhancing the overall experience, despite the room's drawbacks.

What an awesome find! We asked Paul for a local taxi and he actually drove us himself—total legend. The room was comfy with a big TV. Food looked delish as well. The only thing was the crazy taxi prices we found, which made us really appreciate Paul’s help. Definitely can’t wait to go back.

We stayed for a night while attending a wedding nearby. The staff were super nice, and the place had a cozy feel. The bar area was cool for grabbing drinks. Just gotta mention the food wasn't great at all—really disappointing for the price.

Convenient Location and Friendly Vibe

We recently enjoyed a stay in a Standard Double Room where the staff were incredibly friendly and created a warm atmosphere. While the room was clean and the bed comfortable, the shared bathroom could use some updating and the lack of toiletries was disappointing. Dining options looked promising, but we missed breakfast due to early closing times. it was a pleasant experience, but a few improvements in amenities would make it great.

My stay at the Golden Boar in Newmarket was satisfactory, though I faced a few hiccups like getting a cold breakfast pack instead of a full meal. The staff, Rob and Som, were attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was pleasant for unwinding after a long travel day.

the golden boar has friendly staff who made us feel welcome. we enjoyed a nice meal in the pub, which has a lovely village atmosphere. it's great to see a place still used by locals. we liked how they kept it a traditional pub instead of turning it into just a restaurant.
